Announcements and Updates from the Averro Team

2017-2018 Update

Lots of progress to discuss! Here are some of our projects in development:

Deployment of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Sensor for Guywire Inspections

In Fall 2017, Averro secured assistance from the Newfoundland Government to develop our sensor deployment robot for testing guywires on telecommunication towers, flare stacks, and electrical transmission towers.

We are currently conducting field trials with the help of Vertical Specialities Inc and should post some videos of our product shortly. http://verticalspec.ca/

Development of Haptic Controllers

In Winter 2018, Averro was selected by the Canadian Space Agency to receive a funding grant to develop a new method of controlling robotic manipulators. More information on the program can be found at http://www.asc-csa.gc.ca/eng/funding-programs/programs/stdp/contributions-ao-4.asp

In October 2018, we were selected out of a group of 800 other companies to join the Creative Destruction Lab’s cohort and participate in the first ever Space Stream they had organised.. This is a very exciting development and opens up amazing opportunities and connections to some of the worlds most influential engineers, investors, and astronauts. More information on the CDL space stream can be found here https://www.creativedestructionlab.com/streams/space/

We are finalising development of our most recent prototype which we plan to start testing shortly.

If you think you could use one of our products or want to drop by to see them in operation reach out to us via email at projects@averrorobotics.com.
